PBCD HONORS THE PAST, EMPOWERS THE PRESENT AND BUILDS A FUTURE ROOTED IN UNITY AND UNDERSTANDING.
Welcome to Petaluma Blacks for Community Development (PBCD)—a nurturing space born from a vision to honor Black history and build community. Since 1977, we’ve been a gathering place for education, leadership, and cultural celebration in Sonoma County.
We celebrate Black history not as something separate, but as something that makes us all stronger. When we know one another’s stories, when we see each other fully, we build a community that is more connected, more welcoming, and more alive.

there is no progress.”
