Grapevine Youth Leadership Program

Empowering youth through mentorship, workshops, and community projects. Grapevine gives students a voice—and a place to lead.

It takes a Village

We knew from raising Black children and from our own personal experiences that our Black youth needed a “Village” to help them survive and be productive members of the community.

Growing up Black in Sonoma County can be a challenging experience. Many youth feel isolated and are seeking a space to connect with peers who share their lived experience and have a need for representation by learning from Black leaders and professionals. Grapevine Youth Leadership Program was founded in 2021 by PBCD members to provide all of this and more! Through this program, youth develop a strong community, learn tools to handle racism and microaggressions, celebrate Black culture and learn leadership skills by using their voices and their actions to better our community and world

“Grapevine is a truly special group.”

“I enjoy every moment spent with them, as well as the things we do to help our community.”
